Kara Klenk is a stand up comic, improviser, and actor based in New York City. She grew up the eldest of six children in suburban Connecticut, overcoming adversity by not becoming a doctor, a lawyer, or a lady who lunches. In 2004 she moved to New York and began studying improv.

Kara was joined the NBC Page Program where she was fortunate enough to work at Saturday Night Live and Late Night w/Conan O’Brien, where she only misplaced Abe Vigoda on one occasion. Kara worked for The TODAY Show at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, where she appeared for 45 seconds on national television translating a conversation between a fruit salesman and Al Roker. She had not brushed her hair that morning.

Since then Kara has appeared on SpikeTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, The TVGuide Network, and Nick-at-Nite . She performs all over New York City including Comix, Gotham Comedy Club, Laugh Lounge, Comic Strip Live, and the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater. She has appeared on Comedysmack.com as well as on Comedy Central's Atom.com. Kara was a semi-finalist in the 2009 New York Comedy Contest, was selected for Time Out New York's Joke of the Week, and was nominated for Joke of the Year. She also produces and hosts a long-running NYC show, If You Build It.

Kara earned her BA in Theater and English: Creative Writing from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
